Stories of a somewhat naive, middle-aged solicitor's clerk, written by Victor Canning.
In Mr Finchley Goes to Paris, Mr Finchley is sent to Paris by his firm to meet a client Mr Hammerton. He makes the acquaintance of a 10 year English boy who is being looked after by a French bargee and the two have various adventures in Paris.
In Mr Finchley Takes The Road, Mr Finchley is persuaded to take a holiday for the first time in his life. He decides to buy a horse drawn caravan and travel around Kent, where he has several adventures and misadventures. Once again, a gentle tale from a simpler era.
